From Activist to Public Official: A Different Kind of Visibility Combating LGBT Homelessness
Thinking about seeking public office? What happens when you're the first LGBT person to be appointed or run for office? For activists, the decision to make law and policy rather than influence that process raises new questions about how to be most effective. In this workshop, discuss how the LGBT community's increased visibility has shaped races, and what challenges remain.

Homelessness has risen dramatically since the beginning of the recession, changing the makeup and foundation of communities across the nation. LGBT youth make up to 40% of the homeless youth population. Hear from experts in combating homelessness from the advocacy and legislative world.
